Our Land Based Services
Green Futures manages a number of private and commercial gardens and grounds on Arran. Our team leaders have 30 years of professional gardening, horticultural and design experience and are all qualified to RHS standard. We undertake routine maintenance of gardens including grass and hedge cutting, border and pond care and can create the perfect planting scheme for your garden. We can also offer all aspects of garden build and landscaping and have over 20 years of experience in creating new and exciting gardens and public spaces. We work with all our local schools on Arran in delivering outdoor education, nature conservation sessions, tree planting and other learning activities to inspire young folk to get outdoors. Our leaders are John Muir and Woodland learning (OWL) qualified to provide the very best structured, educational, practical and fun school events. We have delivered events for numerous mainland schools from North Ayrshire and Edinburgh. Contact us to see how we can work with you if your school is visiting Arran.
Our session workers are trained horticultural therapists who use food and flower growing to support to people in our community who maybe experiencing mental health issues or rural social isolation, or children who are not attending school to support recovery and help with social anxiety.
Our estate management customers and partners include Arran Community Land Initiative and the Dougarie Estate. We deliver all aspects of land management including fencing, drainage, fauna and weed management, wildlife habitat and conservation care, tree planting and access. Our project experience range from boardwalk creation, woodland management to community conservation volunteer days. We are always keen to get involved in new and exciting projects that enhance and preserve Arrans unique environment. All our contract work is fully insured and our operatives accredited in all the relevant skills.
As committed environmentalists we aim to tread kindly on the planet in all our community work and engage with nature in a way that supports life on earth, including people. Offering ecology surveying services of your land is another way we can achieve our goals to enhance biodiverisity, grow more foods and plants and secure income. The more work we undertake the more young people we can train and support into work. We hope to be able to apply ecological surveying to our project services portfolio in 2021.
